The city of Manchester are invited to get the nostalgic juices flowing at the city’s iconic Victoria Baths as the Village Screen return to Manchester for not one, not two, but five glitteringly festive screenings!

Nothing heralds the arrival of Christmas more then watching a classic festive film, and this year, The Village Screen Pop-up Cinema will be decking the halls of Manchester’s Victoria Baths to deliver the ultimate seasonal cinematic line up.

On Friday 7 December Bruce Willis’ Die Hard will feature all the drama unfolding on Christmas Eve, when what starts as a Christmas party ends up as an adrenalin charged hostage situation.

Saturday 8 December brings with it a bundle of Christmas cheer with the beloved Dickensian The Muppet Christmas Carol – the classic tale of Scrooge and Tiny Tim, with Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo taking centre stage, and you guessed it – 1990’s hit Home Alone.

A pair of winter warmers then arrive on Sunday 9 December with Elf and our personal favourite – Love Actually. Richard Curtis hit movie follows the lives of eight very different couples dealing with their love lives in the build up to Christmas.

With a brilliant ensemble cast including, Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley and Colin Firth, and a sound track to match this is the ultimate festive romantic comedy, paired of course with resident venue DJ, twinkling lights and some of the North’s finest street food vendors.

Back in September thrill-seekers were given the chance to watch Jaws from a swimming pool, now you’re invited to get the nostalgic juices flowing by watching Home Alone and Elf at Manchester’s iconic Victoria Baths as the Village Screen return to Manchester for two glitteringly festive screenings!

Village Screen

Both events will get off to a rip-roaring start with festive music by local DJs and street food by Proove Pizza and Dim Sum Su, and of course a weekend tipple might be called for – a fully-stocked bar serving prosecco, wines and craft beers will also be catering for the special events.

Expect festive beats, great eats and loungers in the form of stunning vintage deckchairs – which will line both the gala pool (it’s empty – don’t worry!) as well as the mezzanine level in front of one of the most uniquely located 16-feet screens in t’ North.

The stunning Grade II listed building will host the two pop-up events on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December 6.30pm-10pm.

Classic family favourite Home Alone will be screened on the Friday and Will Ferrell’s modernly iconic Elf on the Saturday – both are classified PG.

Pool level tickets are £14.50 for adults (16+) and £11.50 for children and students. Mezzanine level tickets are £13.50 for adults (16+) and £10.50 for children and students.

Stuff to note: Only those aged 12 and above can attend and children between 12 and 16 are to be accompanied by an adult.
