Irish novelist born and bred in Dublin, Cecelia Ahern has just confirmed the news we’ve been waiting for.

There will be a sequel to her much-acclaimed, best-selling 2004 novel P.S. I Love You and we won’t have long to wait, either…

It inspired the film version starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler (who play the on-screen lovers Holly and Gerry) and if you haven’t seen that, we can only assume you’ve been living in a bin for the past few years…

After Gerry dies, Holly discovers a series of letters from Gerry intended to help her through the loss and move on with her life after his death, but she finds more than she bargains for along the way.

It’s heart-meltingly romantic, funny, witty, not to mention a real tear-jerker and we can’t wait for the sequel.

Cecelia Ahern announced the news via Twitter, alongside the release date and cover

The 19th is the date you’ll be able to get your hands on the novel – and you can get your pre-orders in now.
