Last week, we announced that a new true crime series was about to drop on Hulu called The Act. The Act follows the story of “Gypsy Blanchard, a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother. Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder”.
But if you can’t wait until March 20th, when The Act will drop on Hulu, then we have news for you.
The famous HBO Documentary, Mommy Dead And Dearest, which follows this true crime story is now available to stream on YouTube if you click here.

The documentary follows the real-life the murder of Dee Dee in 2015, who was murdered by her own “sick” daughter, Gypsy. However, Gypsy claims her mother made her a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy and was making her “sick”.
This was Gypsy’s defence. She claimed her mother held her against her will and forced her to take medications to convince her she was unwell. Dee Dee had claimed her daughter had leukaemia, epilepsy, hearing loss, sleep apnea, asthma, muscular dystrophy and chromosomal defects.
Gypsy was confined to a wheelchair and was forced to have a feeding tube. Dee Dee even shaved Gypsy’s head to make her look sick, and told friends and neighbours that her daughter had the mental capacity of a seven-year old.
All of this turned out to false – Gypsy was never ill.
One day in June 2015, Dee Dee’s Facebook account posted an update.
“The Bitch is dead”, it read.
A comment on the status posted from Dee Dee’s account later insinuated that Dee Dee had been “slashed” and that Gypsy had also been attacked by this ‘unknown perpetrator’.
Worried friends and neighbours quickly went over to the residence before calling 911. When police entered they found Dee Dee’s body in her room, having been murdered several days prior.
Gypsy was nowhere to be found, however all her wheelchairs were still at the residence.
As the investigation went on, all the lies the family had woven began to untangle.
It was revealed that Gypsy had begun a secret relationship with a boy online, in fact, it soon came to light that Gypsy was never ill, it had all been a ruse that her “mother made her do”.
The true story of their lives is utterly disturbing.

The documentary delves so deep into this strange and twisted case it will you staring at your TV in shock.
I can only imaging The Act will be just as shocking.
The Act is set to land on Hulu on 20th March.
