Disney Just Dropped The Trailer For The New Live-Action Version Of Aladdin
Will Smith makes his Debut as the Genie
We are currently living in an age of live-action remakes.
Everything from the Lion King to the Beauty and The Beast has been given the live-action treatment.
Now it seems is Aladdin’s turn.
Disney announced plans to create a live-action Aladdin last year, however, today they have dropped the trailer and given us our first real glimpse into what that will look like.
The one-minute long preview does not give much away, however, we do see Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and of course, Will Smith as Genie.
Will Smith, who takes over the role of Genie from the late great Robin Williams, makes an appearance at the end of the trailer to question “you really don’t know who I am? Genie, wishes, lamp? None of that rings a bell?”.
The trailer does not give much else away, but we can be sure there will be recreations of classic scenes from the original. Such as Aladdin and Jasmine’s magic carpet ride (which appears in the background of Genie’s scene) and the parade through the city, which we also catch a short glimpse of.
The Aladdin reboot is set to hit cinemas on 24th May 2019 and we cannot wait!
