Last night, Manchester came together as one to show that love will always defeat hate.

Manchester Together – With One Voice was held in Albert Square on Tuesday night, bringing Mancunians together for the one year anniversary of the terror attack at Ariana Grande’s concert on 22 May 2017.

The tribute concert saw Greater Manchester choirs sing songs of strength and unity, with Albert Square packed around the town hall for a mass sing-along, including songs by Take That, Oasis, Elbow and Grande herself.

Ariana Grande has since shared a video from the tribute on Tuesday night – a heartwarming scene of a group of people singing her newest single “No Tears Left To Cry”.

She added the caption: “so wish i were there with u all today. u have no idea. love you so v much.”

The video shows a group spontaneously chanting the lyrics to Grande’s newest single, released in April, which is a direct reference to the tragic events at her concert last year.

The song features the words: ‘Ain’t got no tears left to cry, so I’m loving, I’m living, I’m picking it up’ – referring to the May 22 atrocity but also poignantly the show of strength in Manchester shown in abundance in the aftermath.

Towards the end of the music video created for the song, a single bee can be seen flying into darkness.

Her message to Manchester yesterday showed her strength and love for our great city.
