Big big news, Mancs. Europe’s biggest chicken wing festival is heading to Manchester this summer and it sounds like the breast thing ever. (Couldn’t resist).
Wing Fest will bring together twenty restaurants, street food traders, BBQ teams and pop-ups, all serving, you know it, C H I C K E N, to Manchester’s First Street South.
The two-day festival is heading up North on the 14th and 15th of September and promises plenty of chicken wings, music, beer drinking and more.
Locals kitchens will be showcasing their tasty menus, including Oh My Glaze, Flock, Sutikku, and Parmogeddon, as well as some of the country’s finest wing establishments, Drum and Flats, We Serve Humans and Greidy’s Wings.
There will also be a lil competition for those looking to prove themselves. Dr Sweetsmoke’s legendary Lava Wing Challenge isn’t to be taken lightly. The warning reads: ‘only the brave should enter’, for those who think they can take on the heat. (There is also a Wing Eating Competition for those not looking for anything too intense..)
What’s more, one lucky wing-er will play a vital role on the esteemed judging panel, sampling 20 Buffalo Wings and 20 Wild Wings in one day, before presenting the awards on stage. To enter, tag a friend on the competition post on the Wing Fest Instagram page.
Each ticket for Wing Fest comes with a free can of Frontier Premium Lager, a bottle of Bull’s-Eye BBQ sauce, as well as the signature Wing Fest Trucker Hat. Early bird tickets are £17.50 and you can get your hands on some here.
