When In Rome - Seven Stunning Rooftop Bars You Have To Visit In The Eternal City

A must for any trip...

Rome Life

As the old saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day but with this handy guide to the most stunning rooftops in the Eternal City you can build the perfect Roman itinerary in just a few minutes.

Anyone who has been to Rome before will know that there's an insane amount of walking involved so resting your weary legs over a cocktail and some food is not just recommended, it's pretty much a must.

Take your pick from any of the following or, even better, try to tick them all off in one trip. Enjoy!

1. Posh Terrace

Don't let the name fool you. Posh Terrace is actually a rooftop.

The luxurious setting can be found at Palazzo Naiada and comes with a stunning infinity pool. Imagine sipping cocktails in the sun next to this?

2. Hotel Forum

Not far from the historic Roman Forum (hence the name), the American Bar roof garden provides stunning views of the city. Best sampled as the sun goes down.

3. Aroma Restaurant

Trying to find a close-up view of the Collosseum? Look no further.

Located at the Palazzo Manfredi, the menu is a tad pricey but 'tis worth it for the photos.

4. Hotel Minerva

Exquisite 360 degree views of Rome can be taken in from this centrally-located hotel, not far from the Pantheon.

5. Les Etoiles

This cosy terrace bar offers spectacular views of The Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica.

6. Hotel Raphael

A vegetarian restaurant located right in the centre of town. Come for the sumptuous menu and stay for the views.

I always greet the end of the summer with a mix of trepidation and thrill. Trepidation, because it means saying goodbye to days at the beach and in the pool, and nights in light dresses on balmy Roman rooftops. Yet the cooler months can be so much fun in the Eternal City as well which is why I'm pouring 15 years of love and experience into my latest blog post. I'm coming up to my 16th winter in Rome and here is everything I know about spending winter in Rome, and enjoying Christmas and the New Year in a supremely Roman way. Packed with lots of locals-only secrets, plus my own top discoveries, this is the only post you need to keep you warm in the coming months in Rome. 7. La Terrasse

Arguably the best view of the Vatican can be found from here.

You couldn't ask for a better location to round up your trip to the Eternal City.
